About
I'm Johnny Rice, founder of LabACT. I work with pharma, biotech, and life sciences teams that need software they can audit and operate without standing on prompts or outside vendors forever.
Most of my work sits between a working demo and something your team can run in production. That usually means mapping a messy workflow, replacing a brittle prototype or spreadsheet process, and handing off code with tests, docs, and clear ownership.
I use AI throughout the build: generating code, classifying documents, drafting specs, running reviews. What ships is normal software. Postgres, application code, queues, permissions, logs. Models are tools in the engineering loop, not the runtime.
How engagements work
Engagements follow Assess, Create, Transfer. I start by understanding the workflow, data, risks, and constraints. Then I build the deterministic system with AI speeding up engineering. I finish when your team can extend and run it without me.
Typical projects: approval workflows, batch record review tooling, replacing manual handoffs with owned applications, converting n8n or agent prototypes into tested code.
